About the Parole Board

 

The mission of the Board is to conduct informed and fair hearings on cases subject to the jurisdiction of the Board and take appropriate action to ensure public and victim safety and to reduce the likelihood of future criminal behavior of people by providing opportunities for rehabilitation.

 

The members of the North Dakota Parole Board are appointed by the Governor for a term of three years. During the Fifty-Sixth Legislative Assembly the Parole Board was expanded from three to six members, three members serve at each monthly Parole Board meeting. At the present time the board members are:

  • Ms. Britta Joyce
  • Ms. Jennifer Thompson
  • Ms. Leslie Bakken Oliver

In order to provide full attention to information submitted by an individual sentenced to the DOCR, their families, friends, and others, we ask that you please send information to the Board by the following deadlines. Information received after the deadline may receive limited review by the Board. We encourage thoughtful, pertinent, and timely submissions for the Board to take into consideration when making a decision in a case. The information provided on this page explains on how to correspond with Parole Board.
