Mission Statement:

The mission of the James River Minimum Unit (JRMU) is to provide diagnosis and treatment services to assist chemically dependent individuals in achieving meaningful and lasting sobriety in their lives.

History:

The James River Minimum Unit is part of the James River Correctional Center and under the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Its 60 beds are organized on two wards designated as follows:

  • JRMU1 (30 beds)
  • JRMU2 (30 beds)

THE RESIDENT POPULATION

The Resident population of JRMU consists of adult men (18 years or older).

Visitation Times and Guidelines

POLICY: All residents and visitors will adhere to JRCC visitor’s policies defining visitation times and appropriate behavior.

PROCEDURES:

 

VISITOR GUIDELINES

Visitors will be allowed to bring in sealed vending machine food items.

All visitors must have completed the DOCR visiting application and be approved.
